South Pacific Trailers Hawaii was founded and incorporated by Steve and Scott in the summer of 2024 after recognizing the need for affordable, well made, light industrial trailers on the Big Island.  After another 2 months of preparation and planning, a truckload of trailers was sent from Lethbridge, Canada to the dock in San Diego.  They were loaded onto the RORO vessel and it departed for the Hawaiian Islands.  After experiencing a mechanical issue with the ship, it was decided to only unload freight destined for Honolulu, skip the remainder of the ports on the islands and return back to San Diego with the rest of the freight.  A few weeks later, the ship departed again and made the journey without any issues.  The trailers were finally unloaded in the port of Hilo on the Big Island almost a month after initially departing the mainland.  Since then, we have carefully planned and sent several truckloads.  With interest growing on other islands, we have sent many trailers inter-island via Young Brothers.  Due to extremely steep rate increases, inter-island ocean freight is no longer viable and we are now sending trailers from the mainland directly to Oahu, Maui and Kauai for sale.  We look forward to growing our business to serve all of the Hawaiian islands with light industrial trailers at a fair price, without our customers having to pre-order and wait several months for their trailer.
